For most of its restored life, North Star House has welcomed visitors on the ground floor while the second floor waited. The Conservancy's next chapter turns to those upstairs rooms — the sleeping porches, the bedrooms, and the spaces Julia Morgan designed for the Foote family's daily life.
Under Andy Wright's leadership, the restoration crew has begun the structural and finish work needed to open the second floor to the public. The goal is a faithful, fully accessible upstairs that tells the rest of the estate's story.
